A seventeen year old deliveryman for John Farr of Shultz town was thrown from a wagon on the Cicott street bridge as a horse bolted. He landed hard, sustaining serious spinal injuries, and was carried to his mother’s home near the overhead Wabash bridge for medical aid.
A Denver man writes C C Clark of the Big Four Railroad seeking advice on paying for rides he stole on freight car bumpers. He lists multiple trips from Indianapolis to St Louis and other cities and asks for the best rates. Clark says the writer must pay regular passenger rates and is preparing an itemized bill for the repentant individual.
Governor Hanly names Gilbert T. Jay T. S. Gerhardt Republican and Jackson Morrow Prohibitionist to the Komomo police board after a conference. Omar E. Minesinger Henry county surveyor is appointed surveyor for the new state tract near New Castle intended for the epileptics village.
Bernie Wallace of Peru plans retirement from his post as treasurer of the Wallace shows within ten or fifteen years. He will then devote his undivided attention to the Indiana Car company, whose business has expanded and requires closer handling.
Broadway Methodist Church prepares to leave the temporary high school assembly space after two years in exile. Tomorrow marks the final service in the dwelling and one week remains until the new temple at Eighth and Broadway is fully occupied under Bishop Moore. Pastor B S Ho Jopeter urges members to attend and hear plans for the dedication and future worship.

Jury held railroad must provide protection rather than require an employee to watch for trains. One section man killed. others escaped. Defendant likely to appeal to the supreme court.
Captain Madge Harris says Logansport offers strong opportunities for Salvation Army work with plans for two corps and a possible barracks. She cites night street activity by young girls and alcohol use as urgent issues and credits the army with saving her from a life of ruin in Chicago while seeking local funds and location for operations.
Miami county commissioners hear a petition by farmers demanding the Fort Wayne and Wabash Valley Traction Co remove tracks from Pawpaw Pike Peru business entrances. Thirty witnesses testify franchise violation due to tracks near the road center. Proceedings paused with Judge pro tem F D Butler presiding. case likely to continue next week.
W H Leedy, grand secretary, reports Indiana I O O F membership at 68941 across 723 lodges. In 1905 new members totaled 5223 by initiation 991 by card 496 by reinstatement. Net gain 2621 amid 1153 withdrawals 2982 suspensions 18 expulsions and 13 deaths.
Frank A. Mower faces trial in the White County circuit court at Monticello on embezzlement charges tied to the Wolcott bank’s failure. The case traces back to a 1904 bank sale by George F. Baker to F. W. Settle, control of multiple banks, and a subsequent transfer of the Wolcott bank to Mower after collateral and deposits vanished, with Settle’s whereabouts still unknown.
A religious revival in Union township Marshall county leads to a dry summer. Two saloon licenses in Burr Oak and Culver are rejected for two years after strong remonstrances. Kreuzberger's Culver tavern remains the only active liquor outlet, with renewal due June 5 and possible closure.

A stack of boxes in the wholesale liquor store room of Robert Kreuzberger on Third Street toppled and crashed through the front window. The fall scattered broken glass on the sidewalk but caused no loss as boxes were stopped before reaching the sidewalk.
Joseph Guthrie as trustee for Elder F. Obenchain’s bondsmen handed $10,110.15 to County Treasurer Owen McGreevy, completing a settlement that shifted $31,110.15 of the liability to taxpayers. The 1905 agreement required bondsmen to cover $62,220.30, leaving the public responsible for the balance.
Indiana state chemist H. E. Barnard reports analysis of twenty nine honey samples finds four adulterated, two from outside Indiana and two labeled combination honey made in Tudiana. He praises Indiana white clover honey as the finest, noting varied flavors from buckwheat sage Wisconsin basswood and California honey.
The Citizens' Club meets Monday at Carnegie Hall at 8.00 pm. Dr J A Little, fresh from the tuberculosis exhibit in Indianapolis, will present The Great White Plague. Rev Walter Johnston of Broadway Presbyterian Church will discuss Equality. The talks will be open to the public and ladies are invited.
B F Yantis filed an amended petition with County Auditor Gard seeking to narrow the Michigan pike from 100 to 60 feet and grant a 40 foot strip to the South Bend and Logansport Traction company for a right of way. The plan, supported by most farmers along the line, asks the commissioners to appoint honest, straightforward viewers. The eight mile narrowing ends where the interurban line meets the pike near the city.
The National Educational Association resolution urges raised teacher pay, merit-based promotion, and grading systems. It backs Secretary Wilson’s agriculture education report and a $13 620 congressionally requested study of agricultural instruction in the U S and Europe. It supports teacher prep in manual training elementary agriculture and domestic science and calls for curbing fraternities and sororities in secondary schools.
Electricians install a new electrical converter and substation equipment at Boyd Park to convert high tension power for car operation. Once completed, the Boyd Park substation will supply power to the line, replacing the Boyd Fark powerhouse as the source for the system.
Friends in Lac Porte endorse Milton H. Low for state treasurer. He has been active in politics for ten years and never before sought office. Low argues funds should be placed in state banks and any interest funded to the state treasury.
