North Indiana Conference to Meet in Bluffton April 3 11
The sixty seventh North Indiana annual conference of the Methodist Episcopal church will convene in Bluffton from April 3 to 11 presided by Earl Cranston with Bishop Hoss and Bishop McDowell among the visiting bishops. About 300 pastors and many spouses are expected. the program covers sermons openings, business sessions, evangelistic services and numerous anniversary and mission events across Elkhart to Wayne counties.

The McKinley Park project on the West Side will gain shade trees and benches after the board of public works awarded a contract to Spring Hall Nurseries of Tippecanoe City Ohio for twenty trees. Brewery Night Watchman Fails to Stop Beer Thieves

In Winamac Indiana on March 8 Maggie Price sued Claud Price for desertion. The court dismissed the desertion charge and she filed for divorce. Matt Hamilton faced a wife desertion case. defense claimed unjustified desertion due to improper conduct. Hamilton was fined $100 and jailed ten days. Abstractor J M Nye suffered facial burns from a gas stove explosion. John Huff’s remains were moved for interment after dying at the county farm.

Six high school students including Albert Douglass son of Superintendent A H Douglass were expelled yesterday by Principal John J Mitchell after painting the sophomore numerals on the desk during a night fog. The investigation identified the six as Forest Planck Murray Espy John Bishop William Kraut and Harry Shafer and they are expelled for the rest of the term and must seek jobs since they cannot attend classes.
