County council adjourned without approving Eel Township Assessor John W. Markley s request for 150 dollars. Although a member had tabled the motion earlier the body hoped the legislature would abolish the office, and officials reluctantly approved other appropriations including 50 dollars for the truant officer. Last year extra pay for deputy hire had been allowed when only personal property was taxed.
