Ministers Censured for Lobbying in Public Works Bill

Officials blamed over Brewster express wreck findings

The Brewster express wreck on February 16 killed twenty three people. NY Central officials knew early that the track at the curve near Bronx Park was defective. General Manager A H Smith said a motorman reported bad riding on the curve that morning, a report circulated until 4 20 pm when an under section foreman said there was no trouble.

William Miller of Royal Center suffered a arm injury when a wood stick bound to a buzz saw on a Center area farm caused his arm to be pulled into the blade. Dr. Kistler at Center treated the wounds.

Mourned as Dead Brother Returns to Nashville Visit

Marion Yates, long mourned as dead, is found alive after twenty years. He returns to his sister Mrs. J. W. Van Loon in Logansport, then heads back to Nashville. Letters to his sister were returned with no clear reason. A spring visit by Mr and Mrs Van Loon is planned.

House moved to serve as contractor offices at Fifth and North

The old house at the corner of Fifth and North streets was moved from the Elks' ground to the street and will serve as offices for the contractors. Ground work for the new building progresses rapidly. A new lodge named Royal Neighbors has been organized in Vincennes.

A Monday issue misidentified Lizzie Haden as being arrested with Harry Whipple near Eel River. The correct person is Stella Haden, Lizzie’s sister, who lives with Mrs. Frances Wolf. Mrs. C. E. Schrier will travel to Chicago tomorrow to visit relatives.

At the Logansport Industrial association meeting plans emerge for a Sand Lime Brick firm formed by local stockholders. The plant near Kenneth will use sand from Bradfield farm and start with 18 000 to 20 000 bricks daily capacity funded by a $30 000 capitalization with the association taking some stock.
