William H. Newman sues the city of Logansport for 1074 dollars claiming injury when his horse and wagon tumbled into an Erie Avenue trench left unlit on October 25, 1904. He seeks 1000 for injuries to shoulder head ankle hip and kidneys plus 50 for the horse 10 for the buggy and 4 for money lost.
Two women and a man narrowly escaped injury when a crossing mishap near a streetcar led to a crowding of pedestrians and a hurried rescue as a team of horses veered around a corner. The trio slipped, steadied, and made it to the curb with one woman faintly recovering and the others continuing down the street.
The downtown streets were crowded amid warm weather and a northwest breeze. Merchants report good trade as clerks stayed busy while wagons from rural districts and wagon yards moved goods. At 3:00 p.m. the temperature stood at 46 degrees.
M H Hutton ends his tenure as manager at the Western Union Telegraph office and Charles Massena assumes the post with his commission on hand. Godwin from St Louis joins as assistant and arrives Sunday night. All local staff remain in their current positions.
Mrs. Sarah B. Scott sues for divorce from Robert B. Scott alleging faithlessness and ties to other women. She cites the old river road laceration incident involving Bruce Scott and Maud Cash, seeks custody of four of seven children, and notes they lived together again after the incident until recently.
The article condemns street sweepers unpaid for Sunday work. Street Commissioner J T Clary admits the omission but promises retroactive pay. It argues sweepers often toil ten to sixteen hours daily but are paid for eight, urging ten hours work ten hours pay to end public donations of time.

This Sunday and Monday mark the fourth quarterly gathering for Wheatland Avenue M. E. Church. The pastor conducts the sacraments Sunday morning, and Rev. H. N. Herrick leads the Monday 7:30 p.m. preacher and business session.
William E. Miller formerly of this city now living in Peru was arrested yesterday on a paternity charge filed by Miss Minnie Quillen of Colfax Street. She says the child is his daughter and he promised to marry her. Miller could not post bond and was jailed.
Independent oil dealers plan a mass meeting in Logansport to form a city warehouse and sell oil at a five cent per gallon discount. Fosman from Toledo seeks 425 dealers to fund the project while Col. E. P. Holp of Chicago will speak on the plan and its benefits.
A Cass county hens convention ended a winter strike four miles south of town. Hens voted to resume work, causing egg prices to fall from 30 to 26 cents as production surged. One farmer reported a Plymouth Rock rooster predicting eggs at a cent by Easter.
Postal clerk Joe Merrmann witnessed Bradford with about 1400 residents casting just fourteen votes for town officers. He noted there were no large contracts or excitement, despite ward heelers' efforts, highlighting an unusually low turnout.
Arthur Leazenby, George Brown and Frank Brown, residents near town, claim the state championship after chopping ten ranks of wood in seven and a half hours. They boast a new state record and welcome challenges from any Indiana wood choppers, with bets likely among friends.
The Q. A. Myers ditch was sold today to bidders Gibson and Stuart. They submitted the lowest bid of five thousand two hundred ninety one dollars.
Burglars rifled a Peru news stand on the Ft Wayne and Wabash Valley Traction line shattering the cash register and a slot machine and escaping with about eighteen dollars. Entry was from a cellar window to the door, with no clue to the robbers, suspected to be an organized gang operating along trolley routes.
Miss Elizabeth McCullough librarian arranged a pretty screen as a library ornament. It features Indiana Birds and nests colored true to life, offering a study for bird lovers. The display aims to foster state oriented practical education in schools and among the public.
In the D. M. Watts bankruptcy proceeding parties failed to agree on a trustee. Creditors could not vote without power of attorney. Judge McConnell appointed Logansport Loan & Trust Co. as trustee to mediate the dispute.
