Logansport council approved a sewer project for the West Side estimated near 50000 dollars to span about three miles with bids due April 5. An amendment raised the contractor bond to 1000 dollars and 1000 copies of the plans were ordered for property owners.
Comparison of eleven routes from the local post office shows deliveries totaling 54 848 pieces and 35 398 collected for February. Individual carriers include J L Gaunt Anthony Hinkle S G Smith Robert Grant W L Alder Wm Bolt R L Welker G A Troutman G E Gage C Q Robinson and P E Delwater with varying delivery and collection figures.
Three Panhandle trains Cincinnati Columbus and Indianapolis due to depart at 1 05, 1 15, and 1 25 p m arrived yesterday around 5 30 p m. All three pulled by one engine. Two engines failed, forcing the trains to combine into a single arrival.

Charles Massena, a Logansport native, is appointed to take charge of the Fourth Street office of the Western Union Telegraph Company this Saturday as M. H. Hutton retires. Massena has five years with the local office and previously served as AP operator in Decatur Illinois. Hutton and his wife plan to move to Aberdeen Washington around March 15.
Indianapolis news reports Dr. A J Herrmann alleging graft in Logansport council. He says Miller and Logsdon conspired on coal contracts. grand jury referral and a March 15 council confrontation are noted. The dispute centers on alleged to be takeoffs on coal deals and mob talk of prison for officials.
Township trustees of Cass County will next Monday file annual receipts and disbursements for the dog fund with the county auditor. The reports show how much the common dog contributes to municipal finances and the balance turned over to the county after deducting a per township reserve.
Miss Esther Johnson daughter of Cass county Republican chairman was presented to President Roosevelt by Congressman Fred Landis. The president enjoyed meeting a real Hoosier girl and chatted briefly. Landis plans to ride the inaugural train to Washington tomorrow and then visit his brother Walter K Landis postmaster at San Juan Porto Rico.
