A rural couple headed to town with a horse and buggy were joined by a mysterious rider. The horse vanished from Spencer park after rain and reappeared wandering downtown, later recovered by Eiskelburner who suspects foul play rather than a broken strap.
A local farmer tale reports two lawyers, Kistler and Kistler, locating a tall cornfield enough to engulf several men. Frank and George entered the stalks seeking a missing climber, and all have vanished. A relief party forms at the court house to rescue them.
In Amboy Miami county the Quakers reached a split over location for a $25,000 church. Twenty-five percent wanted the edifice on town edge while the majority insisted it be built within town limits. The quarter conference resolved to abandon the project though the minority conformed to the majority plan. Construction may begin soon.
A daughter was born to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Graud of Wheatland Avenue. The family welcomes the new arrival and shares the joyful news.
Local Pacific and Adams Express agents report a Chicago order canceling all special shipment instructions and resuming pre strike operations. Logansport Commercial Club plans a meeting tonight at eight at Bridge City Candy company to consider a Chicago based automobile factory moving to Logansport. The firm, with 50 to 60 workers, seeks local stock investment and integration with an established manufacturer to secure relocation. Local capitalists are urged to attend and provide safe backing.
Roger Powell son of Mr and Mrs J G Powell of Eighteenth and North streets returned home from New York after participating in West Point graduation exercises. He will stay in Logansport for the summer and may be assigned in September to Fort Leavenworth or Washington D C.
