A Logansport column reports the Cupid Wings, a new women’s club, drafting rules to prevent elopements and hastily wed marriages. They condemn automobiles as courting tools and oppose marriages between old men and young women, urging girls to beware of automobile drivers and wealthy suitors.
Mrs R C Richards of this city was re elected president of the Logansport district of the Epworth league at the Akron meeting held Tuesday and Wednesday. Worth Frank and others from this city participated in the program at the gathering.
Charles C. Reed wed a well known Gresham, Oregon, girl. The ceremony took place at noon on Sunday June 14 at the bride's home, performed by Rev. Poor, former pastor of Wheatland Avenue M E church in this city.
The U B R E of P will hold memorial services Sunday afternoon. The Uniform Bank will march to the cemetery led by the Elks band and decorate the graves of the deceased members.

Constable Benny Flanagan obtained a warrant from Judge E B Graves to seize a fifteen dollar hat purchased by Mrs. John Rheinheimer at the Golden Rule. The couple, now separated with a divorce suit filed, had the hat charged to the husband. He retrieved the headgear from the store and returned it.
Logansport defeated Huntington 13 to 6 in a League Park day game. Erhart hit a homer for Huntington. Troutman and Logansport pitchers combined for a swat-fest with multiple multi-base hits and a faster Logansport infield led by Williams. Wabash visits tomorrow as Marion and Bluffton start their seasons.
An engineer警 whistle alarm signaling a roof fire at Mrs. Sarah Mitchell's residence on Barkley and Canal streets prompted the Mitchell household to call the fire department. The blaze burned a small hole in the roof and was extinguished with chemical, with the fire starting from unknown causes.
The White Swan dancing pavilion at Lake Maxinkuckee will be restored and opened for the first time on Sunday June 26 as Pensylvania shops employees from Fort Wayne hold a picnic there.

Alfred T. Marvin a Sycamore Street barber sues for sole divorce from Nellie L. Marvin after she moved to Burnettsville in 1909 and allegedly dated other men. Nellie claims he was a nightly absentee husband and a sullen, morose spouse.
The Western Motor team meets the Flora Bringhurst balk squad this Sunday at League Park. Rosie Carroll, formerly with Macomb LiL, handles the box for the locals and Johnny Simons catches. Delong, Purdue veteran, starts in the infield alongside Meyers Clark Floyd Bones Hanson Paddy O Rourke and Gray in the outfield.
A letter from Carrie Birkenruth reports jockey Harry Birkenruth is paralyzed with no use of his legs after a fall in Brussels Belgium. Doctors and Brussels specialists are following his case and he may be brought here for treatment.
County health secretary Dr. John Nicodemus received a state directive from Indianapolis urging local physicians to prepare for Fourth of July safety efforts. The plan emphasizes parental purchase control, promoting harmless fireworks for children and warning against dangerous explosives. Ministers may be asked to preach on fireworks safety as health officers report a likely surge in sales.
Traveling passenger agents from western and northern railroads enjoyed a lake outing at Lake Maxinkuckee. Local agents could not attend while refreshments were sent to the group from the city.
A carload of Philadelphia fight fans en route to San Francisco was stopped in Chicago by a telegram from the Philadelphia North American ordering them to wait. Officials expect the group to be redirected to Goldfield or Reno to view the bout amid California governor Gillett’s objections.
Roscoe Reed, fourteen, of Onward, drowned last night in a gravel pit pond east of Onward while swimming with companions. He attempted a full length swim, cried out, and disappeared. Charles Thatcher and others attempted rescue but were hampered by cramps. Doctors Campbell and Snyder pronounced accidental drowning. coroner Dr. George B. Miller investigated Reed’s death.
Richmond Indiana hosts the Eagles convention with Frank E. Hering guiding the 500 delegates and visitors. The next annual state gathering will be in Logansport, drawing about five hundred Eagles for a two day meeting in June.
The state board of health advised Dr. John Nicodemus that county physicians are mislisting towns on death certificates. Several certificates list Logansport as the city for Washington, Bethlehem, and El townships, requiring reissuance.
Mrs. Lou Harris wife of L J Harris former barber shop operator at Alcazar cigar store was thrown from a West Market street car at Second street while alighting. She suffered severe bruises with no broken bones and was taken home by cab. Dr W A Holloway attended. She remains bed-bound and unable to move.
The case filed in Judge E B Graves's court has moved to the circuit court. Edith South seeks $230 and alimony previously awarded by the circuit court, alleging her former husband and defendant George H Stephens has not paid.
