He says non advertising harms the public and that news access via newspapers keeps communities informed about who is ill and who attends them. The seventieth birthday of Rev. Father Koehne, pastor of St. Josephs church, was celebrated with a half holiday for St. Josephs school pupils. Six young girls presented him with roses matching his years, reflecting the parishioners affection as he appeared on the stage.
The Indiana case affirming a $925 award against Indiana Springs Co. holds motorists responsible when horses are frightened by automobiles. Judge Hadley notes motorists have rights on public roads but must use due care to avoid harming others, and novelty alone does not ban cars on highways.

James Jordan released in police court on promise to depart the city this morning. He was arrested again this afternoon on a charge of intoxication and faces possible jail time.

From the courthouse steps at 2 o clock this afternoon the large Merinaville Simmons farm west of Lugarsport was sold by Deputy Sheriff Emry to satisfy circuit court judgments. Attorney Q A Myers, representing three plaintiffs, bought the property and said it was formerly the Waits estate below the Kenneth quarries and valued at ten thousand dollars. Simmons has little prospect of any money for the other claimants who have long pursued the estate.
The administrator offers Morris Ferry stock at the stables on street. Prices drop due to high taxes and market weakness. A carriage sold for $40 and other items fetched low bids as stock and equipment go under the hammer.
J P Wild & Co of Indianapolis bought the issue at a premium of 505 for a 8500,000 bond issue to improve the road between Hewart and Liggstn. Bids from Coffin Chicago Keon & Co Campbell & Co Rush & Co J Wild & Co topped the competition. Surveyor Ellis reports seven and a half miles to be improved, improving local travel.
