Conductor Dies After Fall From Freight Car

Conductor Killed by Street Sign on Indianapolis Tracks
William Buck a forty five year old Pennsylvania passenger conductor was killed yesterday afternoon in Indianapolis when he leaned from his train at Fourteenth Street and was struck on the head by a new city street sign. The event occurred as the train stopped to discharge passengers and continued to Tenth Street depot. Buck recently moved from New Albany. his son works in the Pennsylvania freight office in Indianapolis. Rail officials say the sign was placed too close to the track.
