A bolt struck the barn on Harry Prior’s farm near Lake Cicott, igniting a fire that destroyed the structure. Lyman Vernon of Jefferson township died at 11 40 PM after suffering a shock during the electrical storm and failing health. One horse perished in the blaze, five others were saved by a boy who arrived first. the farmstead four and a half miles northeast of Lake Cicott suffered heavy losses including oats hay and wheat. Vernon's funeral is set for Sunday at 1 PM at Crooked Creek Christian church with Rev. McNeely officiating.
