At Ripley an engine on first 72 traveling about twenty five mph suffered a crown sheet failure. Engineer John Murphy was seriously burned and Otto Miller burned for the face and neck. Fireman Miller and brakeman Pettit jumped from the cab and were injured. Murphy was evacuated to a hospital.
