Dispatch offices shifted for Fort Wayne Interurban line

The Fort Wayne and Wabash Valley traction line moves dispatch offices from Peru and Lagro to Logansport and Fort Wayne. Three dispatchers exit Peru for Logansport, covering Peru to Lafayette, while three from Lagro head to Fort Wayne covering Fort Wayne to Peru and Bluffton. New offices in Logansport and Fort Wayne will handle the routes with separate staff for substation duties.

Marshall James Horan of Chicago and thirty firefighters died when a warehouse wall at Morris & Co collapsed trapping them. Firemen fought the blaze as debris ignited and crushed the crew beneath the ruins. A dying chief is shown moments before the wall gave way.

Extra mail wagons used as holiday rush grows
