McKee reports the Treasury Department selected the southeast corner of Sixth and Market streets in Logansport as the site for a new federal building with a $75,000 appropriation. The choice maximizes mail handling via a basement and central location, with strong support from local business leaders.
Miss Flora Hurd and Miss Nora Hurd of Lucerne were riding a horse that bolted after dogs near Sycamore and Miami. Flora was dragged after being thrown from the buggy, but both sisters recovered with only minor injuries and returned home the same evening.

Mrs Allen Elzroth, struck by paralysis and hospitalized yesterday, remains in very serious condition. The illness threatens respiration and leaves her much weaker than in the morning.
An Italian worker fell from a switch engine in the yards last evening and sustained a severely sprained ankle. A Panhandle switchman had his hand mashed while making a coupling last evening.
Ernest Hollabaugh a Panhandle brakeman filed bankruptcy with Referee Swigart. Schedules show assets of 80 dollars and liabilities of 195 dollars, with a 600 dollar exemption for his parents. He was a defendant in the Cecil Hill unlawful retention of property suit, awarded 50 dollars, contributing to his bankruptcy.
Miss Bettie Wilson has completed schooling at Burnham and will spend her vacation with her parents in the city.
The Indiana State Teachers Association plans its forty-ninth annual meeting in Indianapolis from December 29 to 31 at Masonic Hall and the state house. Leaders include H. B. Brown retiring president and C. A. Prosser new president with Beveridge and Kane among speakers. The Indiana Academy of Science also meets December 26–27 at the state house with rail fare reduced.
