Rear end collision on the Logansport to Toledo line near Laketon left Vandalia engineer Jack Ryan with a badly injured left leg. Freight No. 160 led by Engineer Dick Wells and Conductor James Lawler damaged the caboose and several cars. the caboose burned after an overturned stove fire. Passengers unhurt, Ryan rushed to St Joseph's hospital for treatment.
