Representative Watson plans to escort poet James Whitcomb Riley to Washington. The aim is to persuade Postmaster General Cortelyou to restore Tailholt post office before the town sinks into obscurity. The effort hinges on Riley’s possible verbal plea in verse to influence the decision.

Germany and France already use them, with officials expecting rollout in large U S cities. William Randall former Crystal theater manager plans a new vaudeville venue in Logansport. He has interested local businessmen and a stock company is forming. The Spry building on Broadway is touted as the site with promises of top acts for patrons.
The jury returned a verdict for John Lazro a Miani county farmer awarded $1 000 after a full day of deliberation in Grant county circuit court Judge Paulus presiding Edgar Apperson of Kokomo indicated the auto firm will appeal the ruling.

In Logansport, prisoner Harry Corey, left with a fortune, suffered a five inch scalp gash and severed arteries after a bunk fall in jail. Byron Wilson’s quick actions and two doctors saved him. Corey faces intoxication charges, but remains ill. Separately, Panhandle Yard Conductor George Gillet survived a rear end collision with train No. 41, suffering facial injuries and mouth lacerations but no serious harm.
Lorain council No. 10 Daughters of Liberty reports Nora Crooks’s death, the first in a decade. Secretary Mrs. Frank Wall received a $200 death benefit for J. H. Crooks. The ten year span saw 157 members. Mrs Crooks had been a member 1 year 7 months.
Like M Blank secured a divorce from W A Blank yesterday. The court granted custody of their child to Like M Blank.
The Ladies Missionary Society of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church meets in December and elects officers for the year ahead. President Mrs RB G Neher, Vice President Rev E A Arthur, Secretary Mrs D C Hubbs, Treasurer Mrs James Rhine. The group has ordered the United Mission study books Christus Liberator for early 1906 and shipped a large barrel of useful articles to Barnard Mission School in North Carolina.

Mrs. Mable Pettit mistress. Mrs. Mable Shafer vice mistress. Mrs. Tina Summers secretary. Mrs. Ella Crawshaw treasurer. Mrs. Amanda Black chaplain. Mrs. Anna Burk conductress. Mrs. Anna Harris warden. Mrs. Edith Fields inner guard. Mrs. Dorothy Applegate outer guard. John Applegate councilman.
Logansport judge Elks announce a December 28 banquet. Four Kentland and thirteen Monticello candidates will be admitted to Filk dem. The lodge has 24 new members in two weeks and 25 applications acted upon. By January 1, 1906 membership expected to reach 425.
