Famous fruit grower Ciel famed originator of winter banana apple
David Flory, aged ninety, died at noon at his home five miles east of the city after a lingering illness. A noted horticulturist, he originated the winter banana apple and was a major fruit grower in Indiana. Born 1820 in Montgomery County Ohio, he moved to Cass County as a young man and resided there most of his life. He leaves six sons and was a long time Dunkard church member. Funeral Saturday at 11 from the Dunkard church in Adamsboro, with interment nearby.
