A hunter party found John Masse, 23, an Italian, shot with a shotgun wound on the Wabash river bank near the old mill race. Police note a box of shells and a nearby gun. his supposed killer Nick Bibo has fled, raising murder suspicions.
The funeral for Lieutenant Morris Brown was conducted at 9 o clock this morning from his parents residence at 1112 Market Street by Revs. E S Scott and Walter Johnston. The service was simple and attended by immediate relatives and friends. Remains placed in Shidler vault at Mt Hove cemetery until a final resting place is chosen.

Ira J. Downham aged 21 died at 8 10 this morning at the family home in Deer Creek township Cass county. Funeral Monday at 10 from Mt Pisgah church with interment in the adjacent cemetery. Mrs Mary D McElheney died at 9 Friday night at 1123 Erie avenue aged 57. Funeral Sunday at 2 from the residence conducted by Rev Craig of the Ninth street Christian church. Interment in Mt Hope cemetery.
