Quigley Brother Near Death After Accidental Gunshot
Henry Quigley nineteen, known as Gint, was at Lafayette with friends when he jokingly pressed a loaded revolver to his chest and fired. The bullet passed through his body above the heart, lodging in a door. He was taken to St Frances hospital with little chance of recovery. Family telegrams were sent to Chicago and Lafayette, and his brother Thomas traveled to be by his side. A second brother, George Quigley, was en route from Montgomery, Alabama to visit. The discharge was declared accidental and the victim remains alive with one chance in a hundred.
