A runaway horse attached to a stock buyer’s buggy ran from Canal to Market in front of James O'Donnell's livery stable. It struck a buggy carrying Farmer Daniel Bell and wife, tipping them into the street. Mrs Bell sustained a possible arm fracture. other injuries were not severe.

Man Captured Near Lugene After 40 Mile Police Chase
Delbert Martin, accused of brutal assault on his cousin last Wednesday night, was arrested Thursday night by West End Officer Shrader and jailed in Miami county. The chase spanned about forty miles from Twelve Mile Cass county to Lucerne Perrysburg. Martin was captured near Lucerne after a lengthy pursuit with a livery rig and horse.

Injured Panhandle trainman P. D. Beaner in Chicago Yard Accident
Word reaches from Chicago of serious injury to P. D. Beaner of 9056 Ontario Avenue. He broke his left arm and sustained other painful injuries while at work in the Chicago yards. Formerly of Lovansport, he was a Panhandle train man and is related to several local residents. He lies in a Chicago hospital and will remain for some time.

Tragedy Averted on South Side in Hat Shot and Rock Attack
Tom Jackson, of the South Side, says a Brewer son fired at him at Clay and Burlington avenues, one bullet piercing his hat. Jackson wrestled away the pistol, beat the attacker, and was struck by the Brewer father with a rock before police arrived. the Brewers fled and arrests are expected.

Collarbone Break For Vandalia Inspector Tam
Orville Tam an eighteen year old car inspector for the Vandalia suffered a collarbone fracture and other injuries after attempting to jump from a moving Panhandle excursion train. He is confined to bed for two to three weeks. He fell while the train bypassed Sycamore street station and rushed to Peoria Junction for inspection duties. He was treated first by Dr Hetherington and then returned home on Chicago street.

Buffalo fish catch shocks Maxinkuckee anglers
