The Pond wheel lathe test at Panhandle shops finished Saturday afternoon with eight wheel sets ground in four hours. Representatives from lathe companies nationwide watched the demonstration. Under Reneker patents the process is faster than the old lathes, which took four hours or more to grind a pair of wheels. J P Reneker, general foreman, owns the patent.
