Train Riding Crackdown Targeted by Panhandle Officials
Detective John of Panhandle filed charges in Justice Wendling’s court at Walton against Clarence Bebee Lawrence Bebee and William Booker for train riding and malicious trespass. Bebee pleaded guilty and paid a $3.90 fine plus costs. the other two were not arrested. Officials vow to end train riding among youths to prevent injuries.

The so called marrying squire James A Reid gains nationwide notice after staging a satire involving a monkey and chimpanzee wedding. In Loganport Indiana a banker’s chimps Julia Kruger and Tony wed with Reid officiating, witnessed by about 200 people. Tony paid the squire five dollars and the couple tossed rice and peanuts amid applause.

Bender Returns From West Land Drawings
Harry Bender and Harry Trout, local land drawing winners in the Flathead reservation, return home and plan to remain until government calls them to select land. About four thousand claims exist with local youths holding numbers in the twenties. they expect five years to develop land, likely near western Flathead, with one claim possibly around forty miles from Spokane.
