The Electro-Technic band plans two concerts at Spencer park with Master Nelson Allen directing and Master Glenn Stoneburner on cornet. A guessing contest for Allen’s age offers five dollars to a lucky Logansport participant.
Trustees seek estimates from Logansport Heating for heating the high school and Eighth Street building. The plan aims to stop buying extra furnaces and reduce heat-related sanitary and fire risks. If approved, all public buildings including the post office and court house would join, ending downtown smoke from large coal users.
The Aavka threshing ring met yesterday at William Logan’s home to settle final business for the season. A featured moment was the large dinner served by the members’ wives. In twelve days the ring threshed 6,197 bushels of wheat and 16,721 bushels of oats.
Earl Reid files suit against the Wabash Railroad company seeking 72 dollars for the killing of one cow and two hogs. Case set for hearing Thursday August 31 at 10 o'clock.

He awaits bond set at 500 dollars, hopeful his father will post. Indicted by the April grand jury on fraud and real estate schemes, he faces suits in Grant County and potential Cass court term delays. Attorney B F Long represents him.
Montraville Simmons sues J Earl Johnson over a hay baler dispute. Simmons says he rented the baler to Johnson, while Johnson claims he bought the machine. After two days in Squire Reid's court, the case ends and a verdict is scheduled for Monday at 10 o'clock.
Chicago August 19 Myrtle Reed McCullough author and titled poet died by overdose after a life of domestic unhappiness revealed in letters to a friend and father at inquest the coroner found she killed herself while temporarily insane from low mood. Annie Larsen the housemaid testified to chronic spousal drinking and late nights while Mrs McCullough lamented her fate and hoped her husband had been kinder. Her works include The Letters of a Musician Lavender and Old Lace and Love Me Little Men.
About twelve Logansport members of the colored Knights of Pythias lodge head to Indianapolis for the sixteenth biennial supreme lodge session August 20 to 26. Major R R Jackson of Chicago will command the camp with extensive parades, receptions, and a prize drill offering $3,000 in prizes.
Ray Harmon sues John A. Teens Emor Vanata and H. W. Richardson in Cass circuit court claiming 75 dollars on a promissory note.

Indianapolis lightweight Milburn Saylor is slated to box Knockout Brown of New York before the Armstrong Athletic Club in Boston on September 12. Brown has fought Wolgast twice with a slight edge in critics eyes. Saylor recently drew with Jake Barada in St Joseph, Missouri, proving his rising status among top lightweights. A colored man named Harry Geed allegedly played ghost at a party at Miss Gladys Keen's East End home and caused her to faint. Dr Newman treated the frightened girl with a sedative.

David Cronin, an older offender, was arrested on intoxication and arraigned before Judge S. G. Gifford. He was fined 106 dollars and costs and received a 30 day jail sentence, suspended on condition of reform. If caught drunk again, the full 140 days and further fine will be imposed.
The parents of Frank Angarone Walter Smith and Clifford Cordell wired tickets to Chicago for their return after being arraigned there yesterday for running away to see aviators fly. Ralph Rhoades and his parents at 124 Wabash say their son is incorrigible and will not be sent for.
