Charles Ijams Fannie Powell and Minnie Vandyne seek legal separation in circuit court. A farmer sues a neighbor for 200 dollars over horses wandering into his wheat field. The day brings three new filings, totaling seventeen separation requests since August.
Fannie Powell files suit for divorce from John Powell with James A. West as attorney. She seeks $500 alimony and custody of two of six children. The complaint states a marriage on February 11 1886 and separation on July 18 1993 with alleged frequent abuse and failure to provide. Custody sought for the two eldest daughters.
Amanda Vandyne filed for divorce from Charles Vandyne alleging a marriage on February 28, 1809 and separation on January 25, 1903. She claims drunkenness and frequent severe beating that forced her to seek police aid and incited threats to her life.
Charles B Sjams files for divorce citing marriage on December 24 1898 and separation on December 25 1900. He a stationary engineer claims wife twice married before and one child by a former husband. He alleges he left Elwood for Tipton, wife deserted him to Noblesville, and they have not lived together since.
Harry A. Miller by attorney George W. Funk files suit against William Juhan seeking $206 in damages. He states that last spring he owned ten acres of land where horses were allowed to run over the wheat, causing $200 in damage.
The J. T. Elliott Wholesale Grocery company filed suit against J. J. Donn demanding $2.50 on a promissory note.
State Superintendent of Public Instruction Cotton of Indianapolis will be in Logansport on Tuesday September 1 to address the county institute. He urges that trustees and school boards attend as his remarks will concern educational matters of broad interest.
A traveling piano dealer, W F Bridge, home in South Bend, was yesterday adjudicated bankrupt. The city fears patrons may confuse him with J C Bridge, who shares similar initials, though the other man denies any intent to use bankruptcy benefits.
The copperhead on display before John Hildebrandt's on Feurth Street was killed yesterday by a nicotine drop from an old pipe. D F Disher delivered the dose and Dr Hetherington administered chloroform to end the reptile's agony. The venomous snake had drawn many fearful onlookers.
McElhaney and Thompson refuse to yield in the plasterers strike. Reports of Hart building work resumed proved false as James Thompson, partner of James McElhaney, returns to site while unionists watch closely. Both sides show no sign of ending the deadlock.
Joseph Bniffert of Chicago and Miss Anna Miller of Penn were wed in a Catholic church. After the ceremony a crowd gathered at the station and Bniffert’s mother attacked the crowd with a stake and umbrella, causing a disturbance before the couple left for Chicago.

Anne Stottler testifies that O Fazzio took liberties with her daughter Annie Stottler while Tommy D Fazzio, a Broadway fruit dealer, faces charges of assault and later alleged ravishing a 12 year old girl. Dr Rubsam supported the girl's claim as the case continued under $500 bond.
Cracker Jack, owned by Deputy Auditor Charles Smith, finished third in the 2:35 pace at Frankfort yesterday. Daniel J. won the race in three straight heats, with Cracker Jack second in the fastest heat. Donahue was the driver.
Miss Anna Heaton daughter of Mr and Mrs Henry Heaton died yesterday evening at home 1422 Erie Avenue aged 28 funeral Friday at 10 am Trinity Episcopal Church Rev Lockton officiating interment Mt Hope.
Last evening a horse driven by W. E. Conner bolted when frightened by a car on Miami street and dashed into a telegraph pole. Three men in the buggy were thrown out but suffered no injuries. The buggy shafts were broken.
Master Charles Ripplin of Cincinnati Ohio travels through Logansport this afternoon en route to Chicago and then San Francisco to visit relatives. At just thirteen, he appears a small lad and many boys would fear such a long journey alone.

Firemen arrived by 2:46 PM and saved the family horse and buggy as hay burned in the shed. The bolt shook the Studebaker home and briefly halted street activity. no other damage was reported.
Two Dunn hotel waitresses fleeing a storm sprinted along Market Street without rain gear. The lead runner slipped at Fourth Street, ending in a soaking ducking with only minor injuries.
Elwood Ind August 18 opening day of the eighth annual fair and gospel race meeting drew strong crowds. Judges were W B Covall Kekomo B W Hall Rushville and J A MclIntosh Sheridan with Dr Al Mock Elwood as starter. Races featured a 2 30 pace purse 1000 with multiple entrants and results noting Pattie Peet winning straight heats Madeline G second Bertie L third. half mile purse 58 with similar placings. Attendence reported at 5000.
