Dog Drives Off Burglar After Nighttime Break-In
A prowler entered Henry B. Moore's home at 2300 Broadway, stealing the daughter's purse containing 8.25. The dog awakened by barking chased the intruder away before he could go upstairs, after causing candle drippings and signs of extensive rummaging on the ground floor. Police suspect the same thief may have visited the Jenkins residence.

Frank Petrie a Panhandle railroad section laborer living at 1310 Wright street was fatally injured when a switch engine shoved two cars on the Wabash tracks pinning him between bumpers. He was found unable to breathe and died soon after at his Wright street home.
