Electric Storm Knocks City Power From Line
A major electrical storm knocked out the city power circuit early today. The fault occurred on Erie avenue and Eleventh street when a Bell Telephone pole shift pushed city wires together and lightning burned insulation, stopping all factory motors and halting business. The Blassingham home on North street was struck, the insulation burned and smoke filled the cellar but no one was harmed. Two trolley poles near Spencer park were splintered. a hospital strike rumor proved false.

Self-inflicted thigh wound ends in quick recovery

City Council Backs Pool Plan Over Bath House
In a special session the council refused a $1,000 bath house appropriation, choosing to wait for a public swimming pool. Lightning Burns Walton Area Barn, Two Escape Unharmed
A barn on Charles Flannigan’s farm one mile east of Walton was struck by lightning this morning and burned to the ground. Tenant Uriah Widener and hired man Lon Wendling were in the barn. both were stunned but unhurt. Horses bolted to safety as hay and grain were destroyed, ten tons of hay, 100 bushels of seed wheat and 10 bushels of oats consumed.
