Sarah B. Milburn filed for divorce from Dr. Robert C. Milburn alleging habitual drunkenness, domestic abuse, and a quarrel over an old love affair involving the oldest daughter. She seeks $500 alimony and custody of four children. a restraining order on disposition of household goods was requested.
A funeral for George W. Gonser, formerly of Kokomo, will be held Sunday afternoon in Kokomo after his death by suicide in Indianapolis. The Knights of Pythias will lead the ceremonies with a special 1:00 arrival train and 6:00 return to convey lodge members and friends. Gonser belonged to Apollo lodge Knights of Pythias Uniform Rank Orient Lodge Masons and Elks of Kokomo.
The body of George Gonser, who died by his own action after throwing himself in front of a Big Four train, was taken to Kokomo for burial. An inquest found no new points and suggested the wound was made by the rail rather than a razor, with notes that heat in Mexico and malaria may have affected his mind.
The twelfth divorce action in Cass county since August is filed in circuit court by McConnell Jenkines Jenkines and Stuart. Cora P Hewitt sues Bert S Hewitt alleging habitual drunkenness since their marriage on December 24 1899 and separation August 1 1905. She asks the court to set aside 100 alimony for support.
A dog and pony show posted notices in the city announcing a performance to be held on August 31 on the grounds near Vandalia station.
Oscar Meyer from the Kentucky bar ber shop returned from a visit at Kalamazoo.
Dr. Little and sister Miss Florence Little return from Niagara Falls with the Wabash excursion party this week. The town has been full of sightseers with many Logansport participants touring the Thousand Islands and other points. Some extended to the 23d. others start back today. Mrs. Dr Little and her mother are visiting relatives in Toledo.
The Reporter runs two prize winning sketches. Frances Bolt aged 9 from Montgomery Street won five dollars for a breakfast ad design. Helen Vance from Lincoln School submitted a lion sketch with a playful verse about Egg-O-See.
V C Hanawalt proprietor of the Murdock hotel hunted a bookmakers attache in Lebanon who had defrauded him of a board bill at the races last year. The man registered, denied the claim, then disappeared. Hanawalt followed to Lebanon but could not locate him.
Sheriff-elect Lewis Beckley of Royal Center receives many deputy applications while remaining silent on his pick. Rumors point to Charles D. Emery of Jackson township, a young widower, as front runner, though Buck Stanley was once named.
Deputy Fish Commissioner Wallace Smith returned from Lake of the Woods in Marshall county with a capture of one 750 foot gill net six seines and six spears. All violators pled guilty upon arraignment.
Yesterday the first freight was hauled by the interurban. A consignment of garden produce moved from Lewisburg to Traut the grocer. When profitable, a refrigerator car will be added to the line.
Shaw was a mandolin teacher and American Mandolin School representative. Police arrested A M Shaw in Michigan City on a charge of defrauding Murdoch Hotel owner W C Hanawalt out of a $50 board bill. Shaw fled Logansport with instructors and instruments to set up a studio and will be brought back with the prisoner after the arrest.
A farmer on the Dr. Bradfield farm south of the city filed an affidavit against John Williams for trespass. The farmer states the property is leased until next March and Williams acted on the owner's orders to begin chopping down the forests on the farm.
Members of Company M and guests gather at the council chamber to arrange travel for the state reunion in Tipton next Wednesday. Company I of Tipton hosts with a full program including registration, welcome, dinner, speeches by Cleo Mount and M. E. Foley, parade, and an opera house camp fire with reminiscences and music.
Local negro societies and churches in Anderson Ind expect a large crowd for a state emancipation day celebration on September 22 Invitations have been sent to Governor Durbin and other officials and Bishop Arnett of Columbus Ohio is expected Governor Durbin may be asked to speak September 22 event plans progress in Anderson with invitations issued to state leaders and clergy
Austin and Green Murray, twins, were born Friday morning on an Iron Mountain train near Piedmont Missouri while en route to St Louis. The conductor and brakeman summoned a physician and both babies are doing well. The mother named the boys in honor of the train crew.
Members of Company 26, K of P, report an excellent Rochester camp. A sumptuous banquet Thursday featured speeches by local officers and talks from Mrs. Arthur Faust and Miss Edna Laing. The ladies won favor by presenting bouquets to General Jones and Colonel Warner.
The city gears up for the new school year with three weeks until opening. Teachers and officials prepare, with the institute starting a week early and Superintendent Douglass opening his office next Monday for pre opening business. The assignment of teachers to be made next week with no changes in the high school.
Service between this city and Ohio points opens over the Indianapolis and Eastern Traction lines with an hourly schedule between Richmond Indiana and Dayton Ohio. Until the Richmond bridge is raised the through high speed limited cars cannot run and transfers at Dunlin and Richmond will take about five hours to complete. Dayton connections lead to Cincinnati Springfield Columbus Newark totaling 225 miles. When new limited cars run time to Dayton drops to three hours and sleeping cars will take seven to eight hours to Columbus.
John C. Baker died this morning at 1 o clock at the residence of Martin Hinkle in Washington township Carroll county aged 24. The funeral will be Sunday at 2 o clock at the residence Rev Patrick officiating. Interment Plank cemetery near Rock Creek. Effie Cramer funeral held Mt Hope this afternoon at 1 30. Ira Jackson funeral this afternoon at 3 30 at his parents home 1517 North street Rev Hootman officiating Interment Mt Hope. Mrs S J Cantley funeral tomorrow afternoon at St John s church country north of the city Interment in the adjoining cemetery.
Banks report a new counterfeit ten dollar silver certificate from 1891, Jetter D plate 21, featuring Vice President Hendricks. It appears photo mechanically produced on fair paper, lacks silk fibre imitation, is over one eighth inch shorter, and uses darker green ink with an altered seal.
James Grigsby has purchased the Broadway drug store from W. H. Porter and assumes charge this morning. Grigsby has been active in the drug business at Eaton and will move his family here soon.
The game between Logansport and Chicago shops was called off this afternoon because of heavy rain making the field unplayable. The visiting club left at 4:30 for Chicago.

Shultzown school unfinished so two fewer teachers. high school staff remain same. Local booksellers report over twelve thousand student books ordered for the rush days with expected sales between fifteen and twenty thousand dollars.
The body of Daniel Rudolph, a thrashing machine operator near Rossville, was found with a bullet hole in the head. His daughter Sadie, 15, was found unconscious with a head wound from a glancing revolver shot. George Potter, Rudolph’s employee, was arrested and slated for a preliminary hearing.
Carroll county voters will decide next Tuesday on a $15,000 subsidy for the Logansport and Frankfort interurban. Report says the line will not be built if the subsidy is rejected.
An oncoming car accident by Hich street at Sixth street left conductor Russell Stewart thrown from the moving car but he sustained no serious injuries.

Dr Dwight Powell's horse ran off an embankment north of the city while returning from a call. The driver was thrown, the horse slightly injured, and both were mired in a ditch. After considerable effort the outfit was pulled back onto the road.
A brand-new observation cafe car rolled out of the Wa bash shops at Toledo and was used for the first time yesterday morning on train No at 6 52. The car is described as an elegant addition surpassing anything in service.

Manager J. T. McNary says material has been ordered but no start date set for the Broadway reconstruction. Will Grafi left today for Mattoon Illinois to plan the line. McCulloch to visit Logansport in two weeks to survey the project for Indiana Union Traction.
Will Graffis, long employed by Union Traction at Logansport, tonight sails to Mattoon Illinois to take a leading position with a firm proposing an eighteen mile line from Mattoon to Charleston. He says Mattoon is the central point of a direct Indianapolis to St Louis route and this is a first step toward that line. Mc Culloch Construction Company will oversee the project.
Muncie, Indiana August 15. Local gas firms led by Munice Gas Light and Fuel expect enough gas for domestic use next winter. Gas will be metered and priced at 25 cents per 1000 cubic feet after October 1, up 3 cents. Companies cite new wells and higher main pressure though some wells are weak. Factories cut gas use and homes disconnect from mains while consumers stockpile wood and coal.
The International Typographical Union on Friday appropriated 2500 for organization work in Philadelphia and allowed another 2500 if needed. It adopted publishing annual statistics by local unions on population price scales and hours of labor. The committee on laws won approval for allowing subordinate unions to incorporate in exceptional cases.
A trolley wire fractured on the West Side loop last evening causing cars to shuttle around the loop from Fourth Street in both directions, meeting at the break and reversing to maintain partial service until repairs and a new timetable could be set.
