Stolen Horse Recovered Near Elks Cafe After Overnight Chase
Dr. James J. Stanton’s horse was stolen from in front of the Elks Cafe and found six miles west of the city by farmer Fitch after a pursuit spanning more than sixty miles. A thief description was secured, with sightings along Third Street Bridge and Georgetown, but capture eluded authorities by noon.
