Marion ousted the White Caps from fourth place as the standings shifted in a tight league race.
Huntington hosts a North State League card as Logansport, Marion, Bluffton, and Wabash vie for position. Marion beat Logansport 7 2 while Huntington nudged Bluffton 4 2. Logansport slips to fifth as Marion moves up. tomorrow Logansport visits Huntington and Huntington plays Logansport.
Lafayette defeated Wabash by 2 to 0 in a rough game marked by wild pitching from Ingling and Romaine and a faulty strike call from umpire Gilpin. Rom aine fanned thirteen as Lafayette built a slight lead with limited offense.

The Guy family plans its fourth annual reunion on the first Sunday in September, September 4. Elections for officers occur at 11 a.m. followed by dinner at noon, with the afternoon reserved for visiting in Spencer Park.

A wheat improvement special train operated by Purdue University and the Indiana Experiment Station will tour Indiana from August 22 to September 7. It will visit Logansport Plymouth Inwood Bourbon Etna Green Warsaw Pierceton and other towns, with overnight stays and multiple leg trips, to promote wheat growing, variety selection cultivation methods and pest control.
A Fisher family reunion sketches the genealogy starting with Adam Fisher who arrived from Germany in 1742 and died in 1757. His son Jacob’s line includes Peter born 1771, who married Elizabeth Altick in 1792 and had fifteen children. The seventh son Philip produced nine offspring and many descendants spread across the states.
Miss Lizzie Lark formerly employed at Boone's safe filed affidavits accusing Miss Anna Laugh and Miss Josephine Gassaway of libel for circulating stories that led to her dismissal. Boone advised the girl and convinced her to withdraw the affidavits, asserting her discharge was not caused by the other two.
Big Bill Edwards street commissioner of New York City who captured Jules James Gallagher who shot Mayor Gaynor was a roommate of C. H. Stuart of this city when they were both at Princeton College.
Marion News-Tribune reports Burl Ritter and Edna Pearl Palmer wed in St. Joe Michigan on July 24. The couple, formerly of Marion, recently lived in Denver and plan to live in Logansport. Ritter works as a brakeman on the Pennsylvania railroad construction train.
