Chris Rupe seeks separation from wife Cora B. Rupe alleging a violent temper and ongoing attacks including banging with an umbrella and a punch that required a bandage. She obtained an arrest warrant for provoke after he allegedly kept $50 she says belongs to her and refused to work.
Camden Expositor notes Mrs Ella Edmonson relocated her household goods to Logansport on Tuesday morning to pursue city life. Her son John works as a barber there and hopes his mother and sister Effie live nearby so he can assist them.
F L Sublett of Sublett Hay company Harrisonburg Va toured Indiana and found the hay crop larger than last year though not as high in quality for sale. He noted the hay is good feeding quality and somewhat above average for the state.
In Squire Reid's court the Co-Operative Coal company filed an attachment against Edward Bryer’s household goods for a $13.95 coal bill. This is Bryer’s second attachment as a constable had previously seized his goods to satisfy a grocery debt just as shipment to Cincinnati was being prepared.
The county commissioners adjourned this afternoon after a session lasting since Monday. They did substantial business but did not award contracts for twenty five voting machines. Action on the contract was deferred until the September session.
Al Murphy of Wabash passes through the city last evening driving a light spring wagon toward Oklahoma. He plans to locate there after leaving the draying business due to poor pay. He loaded the wagon with essential provisions and began a long trek with two horses hitched.
A local justice court to hear an affidavit charging Mrs Hazel with insanity and requesting a commission to examine her mental condition. Reports say the woman is violent and must be guarded to prevent self harm or harm to others.
Jim Moody was held up on Third street in daylight by a policeman this afternoon. He carried a heavy load of booze and could have fallen if not stopped. He refused to walk to the station house but was taken by the Daley wagon. He faces another hold up tomorrow for about $11.
A new blight attacks pear and apple trees in Cass county causing damage to young and old trees. The canker forms at leaf tips and extends toward the trunk as leaves brown and twigs curl and drop. The experimental station may investigate the matter.
A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. August Schoen Radt. The birth adds a new member to the family, with no further details available in the fragment.

Peter Dunkin of Young America visited the Shaffers on Sunday. Seven Sisters Ladies Aid plans a dinner at Robert M Rush sale set for Aug 24.
Forty youths from the anti cigarette league enjoy a river outing east of the city. Chaperone C. M. Cordell reports they swam and played ball. The public may visit by taking the Wabash Valley interurban to Hansen's crossing, then ring a bell to summon a boat.
John Klause of near Idaville was pulled into a traction engine drive wheel while starting the threshing engine and his right arm was mangled at the elbow. He attempted to escape by reaching for the fly wheel and broke bones in both forearms. The accident occurred at A. E. Kyle’s farm south of Idaville as the engine was being prepared to tighten the belt.
A single-eyed resident went to the police last night to seek arrest of a neighbor she claims cut her. She alleges the neighbor tried to steal chickens and flashed a knife. She refused to file an affidavit or identify herself or the adversary, so Captain Foley closed the case.

Police found her, she testified to habitual drunkenness and beatings, and she would not return home. She was taken to Kokomo by train after praise for the officer. the husband was discharged.
Worn insulators on Fort Wayne and Wabash Valley Traction trolley wires caused a steel pole at Huntington to become heavily charged. A dog touched the pole and toppled into the street, revealing the danger before any person was hurt. Repairs followed, with a guard placed at the site.
