Artesian Well Contract Awarded for County Court House

Hobo Dan Cox Injured In Freight Car Ride
Dan Cox of Ohio is in St Frances hospital Lafayette with a fractured pelvic bone after a Wabash freight trip from this city. He and several other tramps rode on freight car tops. Cox slipped and fell head downward when the train reached Lafayette, two others catching him briefly before he fell.

Senate Agrees to Tariff Conference Report for Thursday
Washington August 3 The senate by unanimous vote agreed to be the tariff conference report at 2 o clock Thursday. Senator Bailey of Texas moved to adjourn until tomorrow and the motion carried. Thursday is when the work will be done and the tariff bill is expected to pass making new schedules law. The schedules are higher than the Dingley bill and favor producers over consumers. Boy Burned When Lamp Falls on Child at Atkinson Home
A three year old son of barber E B Atkinson of the Barnett hotel was badly burned Sunday when a lighted lamp fell on him. The child lit the lamp after finding a match. His father rushed to his aid and tore away burning clothing, saving the boy though he suffered burns to the neck and face but not seriously.
