News from New York reports the French liner La Gascogne, after a 16 day voyage and multiple engine failures, arrived off Sandy Hook at 11:21 PM with all passengers safe. Tug boats towed her to port as crowds cheered and prayers were offered for the ship in distress earlier in the voyage.
The post says the passengers and crew were saved from the Gascogne after a perilous quarantine delay.
