River Bank Slump Swallows Acre of Farm Near New Albany

A hillside near William Wattam’s river road homestead near New Albany collapsed after 9 pm, pulling a party of locals toward a whirlpool like abyss. Miss Cora Cotton and Briggs were pulled into the hole while rescuers escaped. over an acre of cabbage ground vanished, the cave creating a 30 foot deep, 75 yard by 100 yard gap along the road.
