Strange case of fanaticism at Eureka grave
In Eureka California Peniel Mission members attempted to raise a dead woman, Mrs. Alice Stow, by prayer after burial. Miss Spillane led four women to lift the coffin, shouted Arise, and pleaded with God to bring the dead to life. The head lid was removed briefly but no resurrection occurred and the coffin was closed again.
