Parkinson named treasurer with Hayball as deputy. Nielsen named deputy assessor. Eames deputy recorder. Farrell remains county clerk with Aluthens as deputy. Death of Local Clothier George Robinson in California
Telegram from Los Angeles reports the death Sunday evening of George Robinson, a renowned local clothier aged 50. He operated a successful clothing store here for seven years, leaves a wife Maud Lamoreaux and two children, and will be buried in Logan. A brother is a prominent Grantsville merchant.

Funeral of Late Mrs Neff in Providence Hall
Mrs Mary Frey Neff died suddenly from hemorrhage of the lungs at Providence Thursday. Funeral services Sunday in Providence hall were conducted by Elders Tib bets Theurer Fohriman Marler Smith Maughan and Bishop Shearer. Born in Switzerland in April 1840 she had lived in Utah since 1856 as an early settler. She leaves a husband and nine children including a daughter Mrs P W Maughan. She was a faithful Latter-day Saint.

George A. Lowe a longtime Salt Lake City business figure died suddenly of heart disease at his home Sunday. Surrounded by his wife and daughter he passed peacefully in the parlor sofa. Born May 16, 1686 in Ashburnham Massachusetts he was 66 years old.

Amalgamated Sugar distributed a quarterly dividend of one and a half percent on its preferred stock with 17 010 shares issued. The total dividend for the quarter amounts to 825 515. The factory completed a successful year with output near 89 000 sacks, about 9 000 000 pounds.

Farrell Election Contest Ends with Mixed County Results
In the famous election contest the Republican C. L. Anderson retains his seat by 19 votes while Democrat A. L. Farrell wins the county clerkship by 10. The county gains a Republican majority but loses the clerk. Precincts 12 counted. 58 defective ballots noted with 19 for Republicans and 19 for Democrats out of 43 recounted. Possible appeal to state supreme court, cost about 200.
