Hatch Trout Eggs Scheme Promoted by State Commissioner
State Fish and Game Commissioner John Sharp proposes a trout egg hatchery nursery at the state hatchery to boost production and revenue. Four or five ponds would stock fish for eggs, with 20,000 mature trout needed annually to supply eggs. The plan aims to cut eastern brook trout costs and sell eggs and fry to other states and private parties within a few years.
