Logan Iowa's Logan Town Founded by Henry Reel in 1867
In July 1867 the town of Logan was laid out and named for Gen John A. Logan by Henry Reel who admired him. Reel bought land from the government, built a cabin on the Boyer River, and later helped establish a post office. The town grew with churches, a bank, hotels, a courthouse move, and public works including a park and water works.

Logan Public Library Founded in 1913 by Two Ex Principals
Two former Logan High School principals Mrs. B J Weed and Miss Mary Rice initiated a local library project. A November 14 1913 meeting in the Harrison County Agricultural Building drew about 100 attendees and 128 donated books. The library opened in a town basement in 1913 14 and expanded to a permanent building by December 1920 after fundraising and a Carnegie Foundation push.

Harrison County Farm Bureau Organized in 1917
On December 22, 1917 farmers formed the Farm Bureau Association of Harrison County to joint employ a county agent and boost farm profitability and community living. It later became Harrison County Farm Bureau Federation and grew to 1386 members by 1921, electing its own officers and shaping farm legislation.
