The Live Stock Commissioner would control cattle sales from non breeders and approve loans to five farmers to back loans for stock protection. The front line battle intensifies with greater pressure than ever while French forces report taking over 29 000 German prisoners since April 14. In Southminster a large crowd gathered for the opening of the new Methodist Church with service led by Rev H Heathfield from Lloydminster. The Ladies Aid Hospital Dance raised over $60. Far Town’s church was opened to a good congregation. Fort Pitt saw the Government Ferry launched on the river and a hill road grading project slated for about ten more days.

The Wilton Council met in Marshall on May 5 with Reeve E W Early and six councillors present. They approved maintenance spending on main roads to market towns and set a 100 grant to organize a school fair in Marshall by August, with Nicol and the secretary named to prepare a prize list and road improvements south to Marshall.
