Alan Wesley Tockwell and Jes recommend left for the Fort Osborne Barracks school in Winnipeg. McArthur Pollard left J P Lyle's office to start business for S M Daly's.
Mr F Walech of Shelleburg Wisconsin toured the district last week examining his property. He appeared well pleased by the prospect as a group of settlers to this village arrived on O P H anda.
Lieut Alex McKay, an officer in the 8.S.H. since 1912, died in action. He volunteered for overseas service, spent time in Leedminster, and attended a banquet for the Alberta Hall contingent before departing for the front. He was about 35, well liked by all ranks, with many friends in Payton. His brother Dr McKay of Edmonton is also mentioned in the hospital.
