H D Council Plans Annual Meeting For October

The Home Demonstration Council set an all day meeting for Wednesday October 3 with committees named. Better Homes club will arrange, Buchanan club handles program, and several clubs take on prep tasks. Mrs Sherman Long chaired the nominating panel assisted by Mrs Alex Hardin and Mrs Ray Smith. A white elephant sale is planned and Tow Valley club is reactivated after two years. A recreational training at Ballinger will be conducted by Mrs Lucille Moore.

Mrs Hyant Named Club President In Lone Grove Meeting

Mrs Edd Hyatt was reelected president of the Lone Grove Flame Demonstration Club at its September gathering hosted by Mrs Louis Templeton. Other officers elected included Mrs Templeton as vice president and Mrs Lee Hazelett as secretary treasurer. Thelman Thiers was again council delegate and reporter.

4-H clubs elect officers in Llano County for 1957 58

Castell and Prairie Mountain 4-H clubs held meetings last week to elect new officers. Castell elected John Thomas Moseley president and Kathryn Ann Walker secretary treasurer. Prairie Mountain elected Doris Rode president and Alton Ray Staedter council delegate. Adult leaders chosen include Mr. and Mrs. Jim Rusche and Mrs. Aaron Rode.

Llano County Home Demonstration Club Reorganizes

The Tow Home Demonstration club is newly reorganized with officers elected: President Mrs Jessie Forgy VP Mrs Ora Garrett secretary treasurer Mrs Gaylon Morgan council delegate Mrs Eldridge Smart reporter Mrs Junell Klendennen Regular meetings set for the first Thursday monthly. A meat roasting demonstration and a mortarless trash burner project are planned with W S Allen to speak Friday Sept 27 at Valley Spring Community Center.

Recent Bride Honored at Lone Grove Shower

Mrs. Granville Owen, a recent bride, was guest of honor at a miscellaneous shower September 14 at the Lone Grove Community Center hosted by the Lone Grove Community Club. Corages were presented to the bride and her mother in law, with gifts arranged by Miss Bennie Gail Owen, and an old time song session led by Mrs. Lois Gerganess after refreshments.

Workshop by P-TA Group at Cherokee School

Mrs. Howell Branning of Seguin led an all day workshop at Cherokee school on Sept. 12 sponsored by the Cherokee P-TA for members of the Lilano-San Saba Bi-County Council. Local unit president Mrs. George Boultinghouse welcomed attendees from Cherokee Richland Springs San Saba and LAA. Refreshments of coffee and doughnuts were served in the morning and a noon luncheon in the lunchroom by Cherokee PTA members.

Mrs. Ray Smith elected president of the Packsaddle H D Club for 1958 at a September 12 all day meeting hosted by Miss Asther Dalchan. Officers include Mrs. Alex Hardin as vice president and Mrs. W. J. Williams as secretary with other posts filled as noted.
