Hereford cattle sale draws large crowd at Stribling Ranch
A crowd of four to five thousand attended the Hereford cattle auction at J. C. Stribling & Sons ranch near Llano. One hundred high bred Herefords including 80 bulls and 20 heifers sold to leading breeders from Texas and beyond as the sale and dinner drew a packed pavilion crowd.

The Llano City Baseball League directors met to set the 18 game schedule starting April 8 with two games weekly one on Tuesday and Friday. Chas Milliger was reelected president with M C Wilkes as vice president Jocia Foster treasurer and Cobb Martin secretary and statistician. County teams Castell Field Creek Lone Grove and Kingsland join to form a county division with a playoff. A Hill Country league including Llano Fredericksburg Mason Kerrville Comfort and Boerne is also discussed.

Llano County Livestock Show Showcases Hereford Cattle
Llano County hosted its best livestock show with about seventy Herefords in pens drawing wide praise from cattlemen. Goats and sheep drew attention, while judges A J Cotton H C Grote and R L Tate weighed entries from Stribling Sons Har din Rabb and others. Champion bull and champion female were named along with top goats and sheep, and club calves fed under County Agent H Robinson were auctioned after strong bidding.

Death of J. R. Wells in Cherokee area
J. R. Wells a long time Valley Spring resident died at his home near Valley Spring on February 24. He was born January 19, 1859 in Austin County and married Laura C. Thetford. Surviving children include A. G. Taylor, Mrs. Harry Bagley, and J. A. Wells. several grandchildren. Burial at Cherokee cemetery followed a large family gathering. Also note birth: M. C. Dalhau and wife welcomed a daughter on February 26. both mother and baby well. father back at store.
