Llano County First School House and Early Masonry Founding
The Llano County’s first school house, built in the 1850s, was a timber structure with a rock chimney and desks of long tables. By the 1890s it was modernized, and the building also served community gatherings. The first Masonic lodge in the area formed there on March 24, 1860, with officers led by Charles Haynes.
