Miss Patricia Millican of Austin, 20, crowned Miss Highland Lakes 1907 at Buchanan Dam Sunday afternoon before 400 spectators. Runners up were Sue Ellen Roberts and Jimmie Ruth Cowey. Millican, a Crest Motor Inn sponsor holder of the Brown Belt in Judo, will represent Highland Lakes at the Aqua Festival in August and other events.

Terry Edmund Joy of Lubbock is assigned to Liano County as a game warden alongside Bill Swope after graduating in the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department 20th class. A fire at the Dairy Snack started in the store room around 2 30 am and caused extensive loss with smoke and water damage to the building. Fire chief Bill Walker reported most damage in the store room and noted a grass fire nearby was extinguished before the Liano Volunteer Fire Department arrived.

American Legion 437 Announces Summer Schedule
Kingsland American Legion Post 437 and its auxiliary publish a busy summer plan. An auxiliary election meeting is set for 7 30 p m Thursday June 29 at the legion hall. A barbecue will run July 2 from noon to 3 p m with prices 1 25 for adults and 75 cents for children under 12. A July 4 barbecue to go runs 11 a m to 2 p m. An installation of officers is scheduled July 6 at 8 p m.

Two Boys Visit Houston Astrodome and Circus
