Memorial Craftsmen Conven Texas Meeting Opens in Llano

Llano hosts the annual Memorial Craftsmen of Texas convention with attendees from across the state and bordering regions. Go to Church Sunday Slogan Promotes Liano Worship

Fire Destroys Llano Steam Laundry Building

Fire of unknown origin struck the Llano Steam Laundry early Monday, destroying the plant and building due to no water supply. The boiler remained intact, most clothes were saved, and Mrs. Schneider, who had just built a new facility, faces a long wait for a replacement laundry amid heavy losses and insurance shortfalls.

Tragic death of Clarence Brewer on railway track

Clarence Brewer 26, son of Mrs. E. B. Harris, was found dead on a railway track near Belen New Mexico. He served in the U S Army and had recently visited California. Survived by wife, son, mother and siblings. services held in his parents home with interment in the city cemetery.

Bridge Work Nears Completion South of Llano

Fill-in work on the new bridge across BIR Creek on the Pecan Belt Highway south of town is complete. Concrete work at J C Cone's place is nearly finished with one week remaining. Contractors will soon move to Wrights Creek end to finish remaining bridges, aiming for safer reliable travel after recent high water disruptions. Llano Band to Furnish Music at Bertram Fair This Summer

Graduation exercises close Llano public schools for 1929 1930 with 21 diplomas in the high school auditorium. Dean J Thomas Davin of John Tarleton College will deliver the class address. Llano Municipal Band to provide music at the Burnet County Fair in Bertram on July 24 25 and 26 with booster trips planned to promote Llano livestock and tourism statewide.

Barr to Assume Pastoral Charge in Temple

Rev W L Barr, four years Presiding Elder of the Llano District, is called to Temple to pastor the first Methodist church. He leaves Saturday for his new posting, leaving Llano homes and friends with regret. A farewell reception at the Methodist church honored the family as Rev W M Rader of Kisville is set to arrive this week to assume Barr’s Llano duties.

Llano Pee Wee golf course opens to the public

The Pee Wee golf course at Llano’s town square corner opened last Thursday and has drawn many residents for evening recreation. The promoters Pat Marchall and Bill Hill express satisfaction, noting miniature golf’s growing popularity as a new outdoor pastime during hot months.

Mistrial Declared In Edmondson Murder Trial

Jury failed to reach a verdict for That Will Edmondson of San Saba after five trials in Llano County. Previous trials included convictions reversed on appeal. The case likely moves to another county as Llano closes court for term.
