Kingsland Baptist will hold a Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church Kingsland from June 8 to 12 daily 8 30 to 11 30 a m Registration and preparation will occur 9 to 11 on Saturday June 6 for youths ages 3 to 16 in the area. Mr and Mrs Edwin Froehner of Cost were weekend guests of Rev and Mrs A R Vetter.
Prairie Mountain placed third in the 1963 64 Rural Progress Improvement Contest. It marked the club’s eighth straight entry with a placing every year. The June 21 meeting was hosted by the Clifford Settemeyers and Eric Staedtler families with refreshments served by the Oscar Schuessler and Billy Bob Schneider families.
The Howard Clock Company clock arrived in Llano last week with the bell pending daily arrival. Wm R Cadmus, clock expert, unboxed it and began installation. Finish work on the cupola delays progress a few days, but the clock will be erected once complete. The clock is praised for durability and suitability for the town and county.

Three Llano County historic sites will receive inscribed markers. The Tow Bluffton Salt Works Castell and the Fisher Miller Grant apex at Kingsland are funded by the Texas State Historical Committee Llano County Commissioners and Burnet County Historical Society. An unveiling ceremony is planned.
