County Extends Drinking Hours in Llano County
Llano County Commissioners voted to extend drinking hours from midnight to 2 a.m. countywide reversing an April 11 decision. Fronteras: Horseshoe Bay officials and restaurant managers urged the extension for customer convenience. The court will reconvene May 26 to reconsider the proposal.

Registration Set For Referendum in Llano County Cattle
Llano County cattle producers may register to vote in the Beef Referendum from June 6 to June 17 at the ASCS office in Llano. The Beef Research and Information Plan would be funded by a 30 cent per $100 deduction on cattle sales, with refunds available to nonparticipants. James Grote of Llano urges producers to study the plan and vote, with ballots cast in July at the same ASCS office.

Llano kicks off Rodeo Weekend with a Thursday parade at 4 PM featuring parade marshal TD Swenson. Local bands, antique cars, rodeo queen nominees, and fire trucks appear. nightly rodeo at Robinson City Park runs June 2 to 4 with fan drawings for a new television. The Miss Highland Lakes Universe Pageant will be at 6 30 p m Friday June 17 at Ramblin Rose Club Llano Texas with 36 a table seating six. Ted White pageant producer says new plan includes beef barbecue beer and the pageant. About 15 contestants from Highland Lakes and Lake Travis area will compete and be emceed by Don Dean. Tow Volunteers Host Successful Fish Fry and Barbecue
A large crowd attended the Tow Community fish fry and barbecue on the Community grounds. Over 2,200 people were served and donations covered the department’s expenses for another year. The firemen and ladies auxiliary thank contributors and pledge continued service to the Tow Community.
