My Great Grandfather Billy Click and Texas Indians Tale
My great grandfather Jacob Birk came from Germany with his parents and settled near the Llano River north of Llano. The family faced hardship as a scurvy death, Indian food aid, and rescues marked their early years. tales include rescues of lost children, grapevine sustenance, and the 1850s move of local tribes to reservations led by Bat Masterson. Peter Birk later donated land for Mason, and Jacob shared many memories of the Indians and their camps.
