Planting Date Affects Crop Shape More Than Plant Type
The text notes that planting time influences crop shape more than plant variety. Early plantings of vines or slips are ready to set when about six inches long. In wet conditions slips may grow to ten inches and be cut above soil level, while favorable conditions allow cuttings to yield high results.
