The Kingsland American Legion held a January 13 meeting with awards to J R Long Sam Ploch Wayne Jarett Everett Turney Sandy Powers and Roy Holt. Plans for Leadership College in Austin and a February 7 9 dance were discussed. A memorial service for Wesley A McCarty is planned January 26 at 1 pm with a bronze headstone provided. Sympathy extended to the Hart family.

The Rev. William Triggs officiated with double ring vows. The bride wore an Empire silhouette silk peau de soie gown with Alencon lace and chapel train. Veil matched with a Camelot cap and lace. She carried orchids and ivy. Maid of honor Debbie Leicester wore an Ice blue gown. Best man Don Olsen of Austin. Reception followed in the church fellowship hall with a blue and white decor.
