Disabled Vets Plan Meeting Next Week
The Disabled American Veterans Highland Lakes Chapter announces a regular meeting on Monday January 24 at 7 30 p m at the American Legion Hall Kingsland Texas with plans to discuss national service officers and Veterans benefits. Region 1 convention is set for Bryan College Station March 25 26 and 27 with details to follow at the meeting. The chapter thanks the Highland Lakes community for support of garage sales and the building fund and notes ongoing Friday Saturday fund raising hours 10 a m to 4 p m.

DPS Officers Speak At NARFE Meeting
DPS officers A Senter and Eastwood spoke at NARFE Chapter 1425 on January 12 about senior driver safety and awareness. Legislator chairman Hal Burnett urged members to contact representatives to pass simplified regulations and generic drug substitutions. AU Gibson announced the chapter will unite with NTRA and AARP to promote tax aid for seniors.

Rites Held For Anna Schilling 100 Fredericksburg
Anna Schilling age 100 of Fredericksburg died January 13 in a nursing home. Services were held at Schaetter Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Saturday with burial at Greenwood Cemetery. Survived by daughters Mrs Elmer Hartstack Houston and Mrs John Sweatman Slane. sons Ernest Fredericksburg and August Burnet. sister Mrs Augusta Goodwin San Antonio. 17 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren.
